Hi! I'm Albertina Sesay,

I am a medical doctor pursuing a Ph.D. in Epidemiology at the University of Washington and am starting my third year in September 2022. I was born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone, where I received my medical degree from the University of Sierra Leone. I also hold a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Washington. I am passionate about improving women's sexual and reproductive health of women and my research interests include infectious diseases, sexually transmitted infections, Vaginal microbiome research, maternal and child health, and social issues that affect health. I aim to be instrumental in the fight to end disparities, especially in health, and to create a world where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive irrespective of background.
